House Details
Kitchen
The Kitchen is fully equipped with a full-sized
range, refrigerator and microwave, coffeemaker &
grinder, and toaster. There are full sets of
cookware and utensils, dishes, glasses and flatware.
We provide paper towels, coffee filters, and paper napkins. Condiments, other paper products, and
food are hit and miss as left behind by other guests.
Trash should be separated for recycling. The trash
pickup is on Monday, so the recycling bin and
outdoor garbage can will be out by the mailbox. It
can be windy: be sure the trash can lid is secure. A
description of recyclables is in the entry porch.
Living/Dining room
Vintage Ficks-Reed furniture and antique oak dining
table compliment the main room of this charming
house. There are lovely oak floors throughout the
house. The living area is equipped with a small
TV/DVD, stereo with CD player, and telephone 231-
843-7135 (local calls and credit card calls only.)
Bathroom
The bathroom is equipped with a tub/shower
combination. There are no laundry facilities at the
cottage. We will supply 4 sets of towels
(bath/hand/face), not to be used on the beach. You
must bring your own beach towels.
2 Bedrooms
The east bedroom has 2 double beds; the west
bedroom has 1 queen-sized bed. We provide a full
set of sheets, blankets and 2 pillows per bed. When
departing, please strip the beds.
Sun porch
The enclosed/screened porch that lines the
lakeside of the house is where most people
spend their indoor hours. It has comfortable
seating and a table for 6 and shelves of
books and indoor/outdoor games. Enjoy!
Outdoors
There is lovely large yard with plenty of
outdoor furniture and a table for eating. We
have a charcoal grill with newspaper startercan
and utensils. There may not be any
charcoal, so you may want to bring some
with you. Our new stairs to the beach
provide easy access to our 125’ of private
beach. You will want to bring beach chairs
and any toys, etc that you use on the beach.
Especially for bird-lovers - We have plenty of
bird feeders strategically placed for optimal
bird-watching!
Depending on water levels, there are usually
about three miles of walkable beach from
the Ludington channel to the Pump Storage
Facility. With limited public access to the
area, the beach is quiet and secluded. A
public boat ramp is half a mile north on
Lakeshore (behind the Pere Marquette
monument).
Nearby
About 10 minutes north on Pere Marquette
Road is a large well-stocked supermarket,
and the fabulous Orchard Market for
produce. Other stores (Meijers, Wal-Mart,
etc.) are along route 10. Downtown
Ludington has shops and restaurants. We
especially like Lucianos for great Italian food
and pizza. To the south, Pentwater is also a
lovely town. Check the drawer in the
kitchen table for more local information.
And drive carefully at dusk, the deer are
plentiful.
